The International Fistball Association (IFA) has been accepted as a new Committee Member of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT). The admission marks an important milestone for the global development of fistball and further strengthens the federation’s commitment to making the sport accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
FISpT is an international network dedicated to promoting lifelong participation in sport and physical activity. By joining the federation, the IFA becomes part of a worldwide community that shares the common goal of making sport inclusive, accessible and meaningful for everyone.
“As President of the International Fistball Association, I want to take this moment to celebrate our new partnership with the International Sport for All Federation,” said IFA President Gastão Englert. “This collaboration is not only a significant milestone but also a profound responsibility that we embrace with gratitude and dedication. Together, we have the opportunity to promote inclusivity and access to sports for everyone.”
For the IFA, the new partnership represents a natural step. Alongside international elite competitions, World Championships and top-level events, the federation has increasingly focused on participation, education and lifelong engagement in the sport.
Masters World Cup 2027 in Novo Hamburgo
One of the strongest examples of this philosophy is the return of the IFA Masters World Cup. After a nine-year break, the international competition for senior club teams will return in 2027 in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil. The event will take place directly following the Men’s World Championship and is expected to bring together teams from all over the world.
“Masters competitions always create a very special atmosphere – highly competitive on the field, but at the same time defined by friendship, community and a shared passion for our sport,” said Englert. “This is exactly the spirit we want to strengthen and establish again in the long term.”
With competitions in women’s 30+ and 40+ categories as well as men’s 35+, 45+, 55+ and 60+ divisions, the Masters World Cup demonstrates that fistball is a sport that can be played throughout an entire lifetime. The event perfectly reflects the principles of Sport for All by promoting active participation, international friendship and lifelong engagement in sport.
In recent years, the IFA has also introduced new formats such as 2×2 fistball, which make the sport more accessible for schools, universities, clubs and recreational programmes. Smaller playing areas, reduced equipment requirements and flexible competition structures allow more people to experience the sport in different environments.
As a Committee Member of FISpT, the IFA looks forward to contributing its experience in developing an international team sport with strong community values and simple participation opportunities. Future cooperation may include coach education, youth initiatives, grassroots projects and activities that promote physical activity, fair play and international friendship.
By joining the International Sport for All Federation, the IFA reinforces its commitment to making fistball not only a successful international competition sport, but also a truly global sport for all generations.
