World Fistball Day 2026 – Fistball as ONE

published: January 30, 2026

World Fistball Day is celebrated every year on January 30, marking the founding of the International Fistball Association (IFA) on January 30, 1960. On this special day, the global fistball community comes together to celebrate the sport, its people, and its shared values.

In a video message to fistball players, coaches, officials and fans around the world, IFA President Gastao Englert speaks about the values of the International Fistball Association, which guide all actions and decisions during his term of office. Respect, inclusion, solidarity and fair play form the foundation of the IFA’s work and define the spirit of fistball worldwide.

For Gastao Englert, fistball is far more than a sport. It is a lifestyle that unites young and old, beginners and elite athletes, allowing everyone to stand together on the fistball court and grow as one community.

The strategic motto defined by Englert together with the IFA Board of Directors for the period 2025–2029 captures this spirit perfectly: “Fistball as ONE – Together we Rise.” It stands for unity across nations, generations and performance levels, and for the shared ambition to develop fistball sustainably and globally.

World Fistball Day 2026 is an invitation to everyone involved in the sport to live these values, to connect, and to show the world what fistball truly represents — one sport, one community, one future.
