The International Fistball Association (IFA) acknowledges the appointment of Rodrigo Andrés Böttger Quiroz as the new President of the Pan American Fistball Association (PAFA).
Rodrigo Andrés Böttger Quiroz brings decades of experience in fistball to his new role. A former member of the Chilean national team, he represented his country at World Championships and World Games, claimed two South American Championship titles, and competed at club level in the German Bundesliga, gaining valuable international experience. Following the conclusion of his playing career, Böttger Quiroz remained deeply involved in the sport. He served as head coach of both the women’s and men’s Chilean national teams and later contributed to fistball through various leadership roles in federation management as well as through his work as an international official.
Böttger Quiroz is the third President of PAFA since the continental association was founded in 2016, following Cristiane Süffert and Gastão Englert, both from Brazil. He is the first representative from Chile to hold this position. The change in leadership became necessary after Gastão Englert was elected President of the International Fistball Association (IFA). With 62 international caps, a strong professional background as an Industrial Civil Engineer, and a long-standing commitment to the development of fistball in the Pan American region, Rodrigo Andrés Böttger Quiroz now assumes the presidency of PAFA. His leadership is characterized by experience, continuity, and a clear focus on sustainable development and cooperation within the continental association.
The IFA congratulates Rodrigo Andrés Böttger Quiroz on his appointment and looks forward to continued close collaboration with PAFA in advancing the growth of fistball across the Americas.
