The International Fistball Association is currently looking for hosts for the IFA World Tour Finals from 2027 to 2029. Interested parties can get in touch immediately – and even secure a starting spot at the event.
The International Fistball Association (IFA) has officially opened the bidding process for hosting the IFA Fistball World Tour Finals in 2027, 2028, and 2029. Clubs, national federations, and organizing committees can now express their interest. Non-binding inquiries and initial expressions of interest are possible until Friday, 15 May.
Following several successful editions, the prestigious Finals are set to be further developed and expanded internationally in the coming years. It has already been decided that the 2027 event will take place in Europe, while the 2028 and 2029 editions are open to hosts worldwide.
From a sporting perspective, the IFA will reintroduce an expanded field of participants starting in 2027. Eight teams will compete for the title in both the men’s and women’s competitions. Qualification includes three continental champions, the top four teams from the previous year’s World Tour ranking, and one host slot for the organizer. Particularly attractive: the host can secure up to two starting spots – one in the men’s and one in the women’s competition. The requirement is that the respective team competes in the top national league or has earned at least 700 points in the World Tour ranking in the previous year.
Structurally, the IFA will continue with a combined event format: the men’s and women’s competitions will be held at the same venue. The event requires two competition fields with run-off areas in accordance with IFA regulations, as well as at least two additional warm-up fields.
“Despite many positive discussions, we have not yet been able to secure hosts for the upcoming IFA World Tour Finals,” explains Sönke Spille, IFA Head of Events. “Our goal remains to deliver top-class events. The World Tour Finals in Vöcklabruck in particular demonstrated the tremendous potential of this event – a fantastic experience both on and off the field.”
IFA President Gastão Englert also encourages clubs and federations to actively apply to host the event: “The World Tour Finals are a great stage for international club fistball. We want to encourage committed hosts to step forward and help shape the future of this event together with us.”

Die International Fistball Association befindet sich auf der Suche nach Ausrichtern für die IFA World Tour Finals 2027 bis 2029. Interessenten können sich ab sofort melden – und sich dabei auch einen Startplatz für das Event sichern.
Die International Fistball Association (IFA) hat die Ausrichtung der IFA Faustball World Tour Finals für die Jahre 2027, 2028 und 2029 offiziell ausgeschrieben. Vereine, nationale Verbände und Organisationskomitees können ab sofort ihr Interesse bekunden. Unverbindliche Anfragen und erste Interessensmeldungen sind bis Freitag, 15. Mai, möglich.
Nach mehreren erfolgreichen Austragungen sollen die prestigeträchtigen Finals in den kommenden Jahren weiterentwickelt und international breiter aufgestellt werden. Fix ist bereits: 2027 soll das Event in Europa stattfinden, für 2028 und 2029 ist eine weltweite Vergabe möglich.
Sportlich setzt die IFA dabei ab 2027 wieder auf ein erweitertes Teilnehmerfeld. Sowohl bei den Männern als auch bei den Frauen werden acht Teams um den Titel kämpfen. Qualifiziert sind jeweils drei kontinentale Champions, dazu kommen die Top-4-Teams des World Tour Rankings aus dem Vorjahr sowie ein Host-Startplatz für den Ausrichter. Besonders attraktiv: Der Gastgeber kann sich damit bis zu zwei Startplätze sichern – je einen im Männer- und Frauenwettbewerb. Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass das jeweilige Team in der höchsten nationalen Liga spielt oder im Vorjahr mindestens 700 Punkte im World Tour Ranking erreicht hat.
Strukturell setzt die IFA auf ein gemeinsames Eventformat: Die Wettbewerbe der Männer und Frauen werden an einem gemeinsamen Standort ausgetragen. Für die Durchführung benötigt werden zwei Spielfelder mit Auslauf nach IFA-Bestimmungen sowie mindestens zwei zusätzliche Aufwärmfelder. „Trotz vieler guter Gespräche ist es uns bislang noch nicht gelungen, Ausrichter für die IFA World Tour Finals der nächsten Jahre zu finden“, erklärt Sönke Spille, IFA Head of Events: „Unser Ziel ist es, auch weiterhin hochklassige Veranstaltung umzusetzen. Gerade die World Tour Finals in Vöcklabruck haben gezeigt, welches Potenzial in dieser Veranstaltung steckt – ein großartiges Event auf und neben dem Feld.“
Auch IFA-Präsident Gastão Englert ruft Vereine und Verbände dazu auf, sich aktiv um die Austragung zu bemühen: „Die World Tour Finals sind eine großartige Bühne für den internationalen Vereinsfaustball. Wir möchten engagierte Gastgeber ermutigen, sich zu melden und gemeinsam mit uns die Zukunft dieses Events zu gestalten.“
