EFA announces fistball schedule for Europe

published: May 18, 2025

At its meeting on May 14, 2026, the EFA Presidium, with the participation of all EFA member associations and the IFA, decided on a definitive schedule for 2026 and, in a similar but still provisional manner, for 2027 and 2028. The Frauenfeld 2026-2028 schedule is therefore binding and the basis for the European and national member associations.

The Indoor Champions Cup will take place on the first weekend in March, in 2026 in Grieskirchen/AUT, on Friday (06.03.) and Saturday (07.03.). International events taking place in Europe are scheduled for the 3rd and 4th weekends in August. In future, the Champions Cup in the field will take place on the third full weekend in September as the highlight of the season. Only the European Youth Cup will remain on the first weekend in October for the time being. A postponement to September was planned to profit from better climatic conditions. However, remaining on the traditional date right at the start of many vacations is also favorable for longer journeys within Europe. The round table with representatives from the IFA, Swiss Fistball, Fistball Austria, Fistball Germany and the EFA was formed for last summer’s men’s European Championship in Switzerland.

Following further consultations with the fistball nations of the Czech Republic, Denmark, Poland, Belgium, Serbia and Italy, the major scheduling challenges posed by two different seasons (outdoor/indoor), differing league systems and the length of the summer vacations have now been resolved. The EFA Presidium would like to thank all those involved for their joint efforts and wishes the member associations, where necessary, a successful adjustment of their national competition dates. The EFA calls on the member associations to get in touch at any time and at an early stage with any problems or questions that may arise. We wish everyone much sporting success.
