Exactly one year to go until the Ordinary IFA Congress 2027! On 14 October 2027, representatives of the international fistball community will gather in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, to make important decisions about the future of the sport. The International Fistball Association (IFA) has officially sent out the invitation, including the preliminary agenda, to its member federations.
The Congress will take place on Thursday, 14 October 2027, at 9:00 a.m. (UTC-3) at the Sociedade Ginástica de Novo Hamburgo. It will be held in conjunction with the 2027 Men’s Fistball World Championship, bringing together the global fistball community for one of the most important governance meetings in international fistball.
The last Ordinary IFA Congress took place in 2023 during the Men’s Fistball World Championship in Mannheim, Germany. Four years later, the Congress returns to the World Championship stage, this time in Brazil.
Governance at the Heart of IFA
Transparency, inclusivity and democratic decision-making are fundamental principles of the International Fistball Association. These values are reflected in the IFA Congress, the highest decision-making body of the federation.
Held every four years in conjunction with a major international fistball event, the Congress brings together up to three representatives from each member federation, the IFA Board of Directors and honorary members who have been granted voting rights.
Each participating member federation holds two votes, ensuring that national federations have a strong voice in shaping the future of international fistball.
The Congress plays a central role in determining the strategic direction of the IFA, reviewing the work of its governing bodies and electing the Board of Directors for the upcoming term.
Important Decisions on the Agenda
The preliminary agenda for the 2027 Congress includes several key topics that will shape the organisation and development of international fistball over the coming years.
Among the main agenda items are:
- Reports and financial matters: Reports from the IFA Board of Directors, commissions and regional associations, as well as financial and auditors’ reports.
- Elections: Election of the IFA President, Secretary General, Vice Presidents, Treasurer and other members of the Board of Directors.
- Governance: Proposed amendments to the IFA Statutes and decisions on membership matters.
- International competitions: Awarding of future IFA competitions.
- Strategic and organisational matters: Membership fees, the IFA Anti-Doping Programme, annual risk assessment and proposals submitted by member federations.

With the official invitation and preliminary agenda now distributed, member federations are encouraged to mark the date in their calendars and begin preparing for the Congress.
In accordance with the IFA Statutes, proposals from member federations must be submitted at least 16 weeks before the Congress. The final agenda and financial report will be distributed at least 12 weeks before the meeting.

Oktober 2027 kommen Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der internationalen Faustballgemeinschaft in Novo Hamburgo (Brasilien) zusammen, um wichtige Entscheidungen für die Zukunft des Faustballsports zu treffen. Die International Fistball Association (IFA) hat nun die offizielle Einladung inklusive der vorläufigen Tagesordnung an ihre Mitgliedsverbände versendet.
Der Kongress findet am Donnerstag, 14. Oktober 2027, um 9:00 Uhr (UTC-3) in der Sociedade Ginástica de Novo Hamburgo statt. Die Versammlung wird im Rahmen der Faustball-Weltmeisterschaft der Männer 2027 abgehalten und bringt die internationale Faustballgemeinschaft zu einer der wichtigsten Veranstaltungen auf Verbandsebene zusammen.
Der letzte Ordentliche IFA Kongress fand 2023 im Rahmen der Männer-Weltmeisterschaft in Mannheim (Deutschland) statt. Vier Jahre später kehrt der Kongress erneut auf die Bühne einer Weltmeisterschaft zurück – diesmal nach Brasilien.
IFA Kongress als höchstes Entscheidungsgremium
Transparenz, Mitbestimmung und demokratische Entscheidungsprozesse sind zentrale Grundsätze der International Fistball Association. Diese Werte spiegeln sich insbesondere im IFA Kongress als höchstem Entscheidungsgremium des Weltverbandes wider.
Der alle vier Jahre stattfindende Kongress bringt Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der nationalen Mitgliedsverbände, das IFA Präsidium sowie stimmberechtigte Ehrenmitglieder zusammen. Jeder Mitgliedsverband kann bis zu drei Delegierte entsenden und verfügt über zwei Stimmen. Damit erhalten die nationalen Verbände eine starke Stimme bei der Gestaltung der Zukunft des internationalen Faustballs.
Der Kongress legt wesentliche strategische und organisatorische Rahmenbedingungen fest, überprüft die Arbeit der Verbandsorgane und wählt das IFA Präsidium für die kommende Funktionsperiode.
Wichtige Entscheidungen auf der Tagesordnung

Mit der Aussendung der offiziellen Einladung und der vorläufigen Tagesordnung sind die Mitgliedsverbände aufgerufen, sich den Termin bereits jetzt vorzumerken und die Vorbereitungen für den Kongress aufzunehmen.
Gemäß den IFA Satzungen müssen Anträge der Mitgliedsverbände spätestens 16 Wochen vor dem Kongress eingereicht werden. Die endgültige Tagesordnung sowie der Finanzbericht werden spätestens zwölf Wochen vor der Versammlung übermittelt.
