IFA Fistball World Tour Finals Return to Vöcklabruck in 2027

published: November 5, 2026

The world’s best club fistball teams will return to Upper Austria in 2027: The International Fistball Association (IFA) has awarded the 2027 World Tour Finals to Union Tigers Vöcklabruck. From 22 to 25 July, eight women’s and eight men’s teams will compete for the most prestigious title in international club fistball. Following the successful 2025 edition, the event will return to the Volksbankstadion after just two years. Eleven of the 16 participating teams have already been confirmed.

With the club world champions having only just been crowned at the IFA Club World Cup 2026 in Llanquihue, Chile, attention is already turning to next year. The IFA World Tour Finals will return in July 2027! After the IFA World Tour was suspended in 2025, the Club World Cup in Chile was recently held as a transitional event. With the announcement of the 2027 World Tour Finals, the next major international highlight in club fistball is now confirmed.

For the International Fistball Association, the decision to return to Upper Austria also reflects the successful cooperation with local organisers. “The 2025 World Tour Finals in Vöcklabruck demonstrated the incredible atmosphere that an event like this can create. I am convinced that the experienced organising team will once again deliver an outstanding event in 2027,” says IFA President Gastão Englert. He particularly welcomes the club’s willingness to host the competition again: “When a club decides to host another major international event following a successful edition, it confirms that we are on the right track and demonstrates just how valuable long-term partnerships are for the development of our sport.”

Experienced Host with Excellent Infrastructure

With Union Tigers Vöcklabruck, the IFA has selected a club that has successfully organised numerous major national and international events in recent years. In addition to Austrian Bundesliga finals, the club’s extensive hosting experience includes European Championships, Champions Cup competitions and the 2025 World Tour Finals. The Volksbankstadion provides excellent conditions for an international top-level tournament.

Following the successful 2025 edition, the club will welcome the international fistball elite back to Vöcklabruck just two years later. The Tigers’ men’s team will receive the host’s qualification spot and will be aiming to claim the club world title once again in front of their home crowd – hoping to lift the trophy for the third time after their triumphs in 2024 and 2025.  “We are delighted that, following 2025, we have once again been awarded the opportunity to host the World Tour Finals in 2027. It is the most important club fistball event in the world, and the 2025 edition was a tremendous success, both from a sporting and organisational perspective, and a highlight in our club’s history,” says Stefan Huemer, Head of the Local Organising Committee. “Our cooperation with the IFA and the City of Vöcklabruck already worked exceptionally well in 2025, and we look forward to organising another fantastic event together.” Huemer adds: “We will do our best to build on the success of last year’s event and once again provide the world’s best club teams with the perfect stage for spectacular fistball. We are looking forward to many unforgettable moments with the entire fistball family!”

“With Union Tigers Vöcklabruck, we have secured an extremely experienced host that not only has a well-established organising team but also offers outstanding infrastructure,” explains Sönke Spille, IFA Head of Events. The decision followed extensive discussions: “Over the past few months, we have spoken with numerous potential hosts and evaluated different options. We are therefore particularly pleased that Vöcklabruck has confirmed its commitment, allowing us to return to a host with whom we already enjoyed such a successful and trusting partnership in 2025.”

First Teams Already Qualified

The sporting line-up for the 2027 World Tour Finals is also beginning to take shape. In addition to the continental champions of the three largest continental federations, the top four teams in the 2026 IFA World Tour rankings in each competition have secured their places.

In the women’s competition, Ahlhorner SV (GER) has already qualified as the winner of the 2026 European Champions Cup. The four teams qualifying through the World Tour rankings are SOGIPA Porto Alegre (BRA), Union Compact Freistadt (AUT), TSV Dennach (GER) and DSG UKJ Froschberg (AUT).

In the men’s competition, TSV Pfungstadt (GER) secured its place by winning the 2026 European Champions Cup. The four World Tour qualification spots went to TV Wohnplan Enns (AUT), SOGIPA Porto Alegre (BRA), UFG Sparkasse Grieskirchen/Pötting (AUT) and Union Compact Freistadt (AUT). The list of confirmed participants is completed by hosts Union Tigers Vöcklabruck (AUT), winners of the 2025 World Tour Finals. The remaining qualification spots will be allocated in the coming weeks.

IFA Faustball World Tour Finals
kehren 2027 nach Vöcklabruck zurück

Faustball, IFA Fistball World Tour Final

Erste Teams bereits qualifiziert
